In the aftermath of the market crash, Tarek and Christina El Moussa nearly lost everything. They were living in a home that cost $6000 per month, and then a house that cost $700 a month. The economy and their businesses gradually improved. HGTV as well as Rise to Fame In 2011 Tarek asked a friend to assist him in creating an HGTV audition tape, which featured his and Christina turning a house beginning to end. Pie Town Productions executive received the tape. These executives were in love with Tarek, Christina and their tale. The couple officially signed a HGTV contract in the year 2012. The program "Flip of Flop", premiered on April 13, 2013. Over seven seasons between 2013 and 2017 the show broadcast 92 episode. Christina and Tarek had to buy houses typically within Orange County. After spending some time on improvements, they would flip them to make profits. Tarek is focused on construction and remodelling while Christina focuses on design and making sure that everything stays on schedule.
