Annette Funicello is an American actor and singer. Her most famous role was as one of Mickey Mouse Club's "Mouseketeers". The singer began her singing career as a teenager and was known for the hit songs "Tall Paul" and "Pineapple Princess." She was born in Utica, to Italian parents who were immigrants from Italy, Annette was a shy child. After deciding to start an occupation in the business, she started doing dance and performed. Around the middle of 1950, she was featured in a number of Disney sketches in the role of one of the "Mouseketeers" and gained significant fame. Annette's "Disney" persona was discarded after she turned an adult and was able to play adult roles. Annette was renowned as one of the first actors to pioneer"the "beach party" category. The films she appeared in included 'Pajama Party', 'How to stuff a wild bikini' and 'Beach Party'. Annette recorded music from time-to-time. Annette was diagnosed with MS in 1992.
